Logline: Ben is a sturdy man of few words and unbending devotion He is heading up to the windswept and forbidding Highlands of Iceland to seek and rescue sheep gone adrift that otherwise would be lost to the fury of winter.
Ben has wrestled with the icy north winds of the highlands for the past twenty-seven years, almost always during the week of Advent. This is the harshest time of winter.
His companions on this dangerous journey are but two. His trusted dog, Leo, and the wise and stoic bellwether ram, Gnarly.
When Ben has to delay his expedition in order to help out a man to search for missing horses, he thereby endangers his own mission. A raging winter storm, which he could have avoided, instead engulfs both him and his two, loyal four-footed comrades.
The perilous journey, that initially was planned to take a week, instead turns into a three week struggle of endurance and determination to stay alive.
Exposed, and exhausted, Ben eventually begins to question the purpose in his life. Will this be his final journey? Who else would ever come to the aid of some lost wandering sheep?
